it's Saturday, 5.15 pm en route to York and I figure 45 minutes is too long to make my four year old wait for dinner, so I stop in Pickering and am relieved to find an eat in fish and chips with the lights on and pretty full of customers. 45 minutes later and we have managed to order and drink our drinks and receive some bread and butter. there is no sign of our actual meals. of course the little one is now beside himself with boredom. and if we had just continued we would have been home by now. we end up leaving with no dinner and the child is now asleep having had no dinner and daddy is hungry and behind with plans.
Superb....4 of us travelled to Pickering by Steam Train and sated our large appetites with the best grub we could have asked for. Emma was outstanding in her efficiency and friendliness. Double definitely be back. ....We went back two days later. Emma was there again. This restaurant is not a one trick pony, Capplemans nailed it again. When I shared my experience with fellow guests in the hotel they told me I should be the Brand Ambassador. .
Probably the best fish and chips you will ever have. Try the Plaice.... Just delicious!
