Booked,paid deposit,cancelled by ownersWe had booked this property, and paid deposit in July for the 1940s weekend in October 2019, looked an ideal location and had booked early as we knew places would soon fill up after this 1940s event.Today we received a call from the owners cancelling the booking, claiming it had had allready been pre-booked and that they had not known about this!This has now left us unlikely to find suitable accommodation for the weekend.Appalling service considering we had booked and paid months ago.
Excellent time spent at the Burgate top class host spotless inside, one of the best breakfast ever had, the new bar area is so relaxing hope to go back soon.Also met the future queen of England at the Hotel their on the 1940s weekend so the Burgate is also top class place to stay for everyone.
Wonderful welcome. Alan and Ashley are wonderful hosts We've felt thoroughly looked after all weekend. Our room was beautiful and the bed very comfy. Breakfast was lovely. We will definitely stay there again
Stayed here for my first trip to Pickering to visit friends. The hosts were amazingly warm and welcoming and even provided tea and cake in the garden on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble and the hotel was extremely well presented.The room was spotlessly clean and the attention to detail was second to none.I would like to thank Ashley and Alan for helping make our stay so enjoyable (special thanks to Alan for bring us breakfast In the garden) I will definitely be returning soon.We wish them every success for the future.Martin and Caroline.
